NCP leader Jitendra Awhad’ comments on Sri Ram, who is revered by crores of Hindus with great devotion, are causing outrage. He said that Lord Ram is a carnivore. He said in Shirdi, Maharashtra,  ‘Ram belongs to the Bahujans. One who hunts and eats animals.  Ramis a carnivore. The man lived in a forest for 14 years, where he would have got vegetarian food in jungles! ‘ He said. 

These comments made by Jitendra when everything was ready for the opening ceremony of Ayodhya Ram Mandir became controversial. Hindu groups and BJP workers protested at his residence in Mumbai. They raised slogans against him. Due to this, the police increased security at his residence. On the other hand, BJP leader Ram Kadam said that he will file a police complaint against Jitendra.

NCP leader Jitendra Awhad allegedly claimed that Lord Ram was meat-eater. Jitendra made these statement while addressing a rally in Nashik. BJP came down heavily upon Jitendra over his remarks.

BJP spokesperson Ram Kadam said, “A leader of Sharad Pawar’s party is making objectionable and concocted statements against Lord Ram. He is claiming that when Lord Ram was in 14 year exile, he was a meat eater. I don’t know why he made such remarks and I wonder if he himself went to Treta Yug to see this. He hurt our sentiments. He tried to hurt the sentiments of crores of Lord Ram devotees.”
