A new Covid variant named Eris or EG.5.1 is currently becoming a new cause of concern in the UK. It is spreading rapidly across the UK. It was initially identified as a variant on 31 July. Eris is a variant of the Omicron strain. It has now become the second most prevalent variant, responsible for one out of every 10 Covid cases.
There may be no real end to the Covid virus, this pandemic virus is constantly mutating and emerging into new variants. Corona cases are still being reported, but Eris is the new covid19 variant that is now causing the infection.
A new Covid variant called Eris or EG 5.1 is spreading rapidly across the United Kingdom. The UK Health Security Agency has revealed that one in every seven Covid cases reported there is related to the Eris variant. This new variant of the coronavirus has now started its presence in the UK as well as some other countries in Europe, North America and parts of Asia. Various health agencies are warning that there is a possibility of another covid wave. The World Health Organization has added Eris to its list of variants under surveillance.
