Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi got another rare honor. Modi, who was on a visit to France, was awarded the country’s highest award. To this extent, the “Grand Cross of the Legion of Honor” was presented to Modi by the President of the country, Emmanuel Macron.

This is the best of France’s military and civilian awards. This is the first time that an Indian Prime Minister has received this honor. Macron gave Modi a private dinner at the Elysee Palace on Thursday. In this context, France has given the highest award.  Prime Minister thanked him.

India’s Ministry of External Affairs tweeted, “The Grand Cross of the Legion of Honor, France’s highest award, was presented to Prime Minister Modi by Emmanuel Macron. Modi thanked Macron on behalf of millions of Indians.”

In the past, only a few celebrities got this highest award. Former South African President Nelson Mandela, King Charles, former Chancellor of France Angela Merkel, former UN Secretary General Boutros Boutros Ghali are in this list.

Grand Cross of the Legion of Honour: In 2023, Modi has already received rare awards like Nile of Egypt, Order of Papua Guinea, Companion of Fiji, Ibak Award from the Republic of Palau. In addition to these, Modi has received many other awards in the last few years.
