Ponniyin Selvan-1 was released last year amid huge expectations, excitement, and curiosity. Now all eyes are on its second part. Now according to the latest report, Ponniyin Selvan 2 is heading towards $500K Pre-Sales for the premieres on Thursday.
An industry tracker confirmed the same by sharing a post on twitter: #PS2 in the USA heading towards $500K Pre-Sales for the premieres on Thursday. At this rate, it’s unlikely for the film to break PS1 opening record: $2.15 Million(Premieres + Day1) from North America.
In Ponniyin Selvan 2, Aishwarya will be seen playing the dual role. She will play queen Nandini as well as her mother Mandakini Devi. Mani Ratnam has helmed both the first and second parts. The film PS 2 will take on from where PS 1 ended, and will follow Arulmozhi Varman’s journey to becoming Chola empire’s greatest ruler Rajaraja Chola I.
Mani Ratnam’ magnum opus PS 2 is expected to focus on the flashback story of Vikram’s character aka Aditya Karikalan. The sequel is set to throw light on the bond that develops between Oomai Rani and Ponniyin Selvan.
