Within hours of the announcement of the first list of Congress candidates for the Telangana Assembly elections, Gandhi Bhavan was resounding with the agitation of the disgruntled leaders who did not get tickets. Many leaders who were hoping for a ticket resigned.

Muslim leaders protested in front of Gandhi Bhavan as to how non-Muslim leaders will be given tickets in Bahadurpura, Chandrayanagutta and Yakutpura constituencies, which have more than 70 percent Muslim voters. Congress president Revanth accused the party of suppressing Muslim leadership and adopting the RSS agenda.

They alleged that Revanth Reddy was trying to give a walkover to the MIM party by giving a ticket to a BC candidate in constituencies with a majority of Muslim voters. They criticized Revanth Reddy for denying tickets to Muslim leaders because he started his political career with RSS.

It is alleged that Revanth gave tickets to non-Muslims to make it easier for MIM to win. For the past few days, MIM president Asaduddin Owaisi and his brother MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi have been targeting TPCC president Revanth Reddy.

It is alleged that Revanth Reddy allotted tickets to non-Muslim leaders in Chandrayanagutta, Yakutpura and Bahadurpura constituencies out of anger that the Muslim leaders of Hyderabad Old Town did not support Revanth Reddy when he was verbally attacked by the Owaisi brothers.

On the otherside TPCC Secretary Vijay Kumar and his supporters raised concerns at the Gun Park Martyrs Stupam saying that TPCC President Revanth Reddy had sold a Gadwal ticket for 10 crores and 5 acres of land. Protesting against Revanth Reddy, they raised slogans saying “note for vote today, note for seat today”.

Kuruva Vijay Kumar alleged that Revanth Reddy sold 65 seats for 600 crores. They criticized that Revanth was showing discrimination by not giving tickets to Telangana activists. They accused many leaders of not allotting tickets to those who have worked hard for the party for many years but to the newcomers in the party.
