North Zone Task Force police on Sunday arrested two persons who were transporting huge amounts of money in a Hanamkonda-bound Car without proper documents.

Manda Anil Goud (31) of Boduppal and Arpula Ravi, (35) of Medipalli in Mahabubnagar district were working as drivers of the car.

The two were traveling together in a car on Sunday morning when the North Zone Task Force Police conducted a vehicle check at Begumpet Greenland Signals. After checking their car, huge amount of cash was found in it.

Rs.97.30 lakh was seized from them due to lack of proper documents related to cash. They told the police that they were working as drivers for a civil contractor in the city and were taking money if their employer sent them to another builder. The police registered a case and are investigating.

On the other hand, Telangana Chief Electoral Officer Vikas Raj revealed that the authorities have seized Rs.625 crores which were being illegally transported in various ways so far on the occasion of the Telangana elections.

Officials said that so far Rs 99.49 crore worth of liquor, Rs 34.35 crore worth of intoxicants, Rs 78.62 crore worth of goods and Rs 179 crore worth of gold have been seized. It is explained that cash, gold and other items are being returned to those who show proper documents or evidence.
