YCP Kadapa MP YS Avinash Reddy got a shock in the Supreme Court. The CJI bench of the Supreme Court has issued a verdict in favor of Viveka’s daughter Sunitha Reddy. The Supreme Court struck down the Telangana High Court order not to arrest Avinash Reddy till 25th of this month. Moreover, CBI has also extended the deadline for investigation. The hearing has been extended till June 30.
A bench of Chief Justice DY Chandrachud and PS Narasimha was hearing a petition filed by N Sunitha Reddy, the daughter of the slain former minister, challenging the decision of HC to grant Avinash Reddy interim protection from arrest.
Senior Advocate Siddharth Luthra, appearing for Sunitha Reddy, said that after the probe into the murder was transferred to the Central Bureau of Investigation, approver was threatened, necessitating a transfer out of Andhra Pradesh. In the course of the investigation, the father of Avinash Reddy and another accused was arrested, while he received only a notice under Section of Code of Criminal Procedure.
On the other hand, during the hearing, the Supreme Court expressed its displeasure with the High Court order. It said that the High Court orders are there to affect the CBI investigation. It said that such orders would lead to wrong traditions.
