Today at afternoon, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 216-feet Ramanujacharya statue in Hyderabad. The statue is named as the Statue of Equality and it is one of the biggest statues in the world.

Specialities of the statue
The statue was set up in a vast area spread across 45 acres. The ginormous statue was placed on top of a 54-feet long building. It is surrounded by 108 small temples that were erected on the lines of the famous temples. To built the statue, it had occupied a long period of 7 years. The foundation stone was laid back in 2014.
The statue was constructed with 5 metals gold, silver, copper, brass and zync that brought enticingness that even temples cannot beat it ever. After the completion of the statue launch, long last Yagnam will be performed, where around 5,000 priests across the nation will are going to participate in it. Additionally, 120 Jayashalas were set up.
About the ancient saint Sri Ramanujacharya
Ramanujacharya is a Tamil philosopher and celebrated theologist who played a prominent role in famous people taking forward the Hindu Bhakti movement. Temple entry for all the casts had allowed because of him as he strived hard against the intolerance. He had reorganised the Srirangam Ranganathaswamy temple complex at the time of his stint in Srirangam. Today on the occasion of his 1000th birth anniversary, the celebrations have been commenced in the state and they will be lasted for 12 days.
