The Supreme Court will hear the bail petition of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu today. Andhra Pradesh High Court recently granted bail to Chandrababu who was arrested in this case. The government filed a petition in the Supreme Court challenging the decision of the High Court. Arguments will be held in the Supreme Court today on this bail cancellation petition.
Lawyers for the government say that the State High Court has granted bail to Chandrababu Babu without considering their argument. It is said that the High Court has exceeded its scope to grant bail to Chandrababu. So the government lawyers want the Supreme Court to listen to their arguments and take a decision on Chandrababu’s bail.
AAG Ponnavolu Sudhakar Reddy said that he explained to the High Court how Chandrababu was involved in corruption in the skill development matter. He said that the evidence related to this has also been presented to the court. But Ponnavolu alleged that AP High Court unilaterally decided Chandrababu’s bail without considering any of these. Finally, he said that the High Court has not followed the guidelines of the Supreme court.
CID arrested former CM Chandrababu Naidu on September 9, accusing him of massive corruption in the name of skill development. As a result, Chandrababu had to stay in Rajahmundry Central Jail for more than 50 days. Finally, the High Court granted conditional interim bail to Chandrababu, who was suffering from health problems in jail. With this, Chandrababu was released from jail.
The High Court has recently granted general bail to Chandrababu Naidu in this skill case.
