All major political parties in Telangana are engaged in filtering candidates. Around 6,000 people have applied to contest the assembly elections on behalf of the BJP. On the other hand, many seniors are showing disinterest in contesting the assembly elections.
As the Telangana Assembly elections are approaching, the BJP has intensified the selection of candidates. On the other hand, the main leaders of that party did not apply for the tickets.
Except Dubbaka MLA Raghunandan Rao, sitting MLAs and MPs are away. Some are confident that they will get a ticket, while others want to contest for Parliament. The leaders are debating who will give the ticket to anyone other than them.
6 thousand BJP workers and leaders have applied for tickets in the upcoming assembly elections. Many leaders who are expected to be in the state election ring have not applied to contest in Telangana.
Even though 6,000 people have applied for the BJP ticket, the names of the main leaders are not appearing in it. Those who have a model identity in the party and those who are in positions are not showing interest in contesting again. All party seniors are expected to contest for Parliament. None of the present MPs and MLAs of BJP except Raghunandan Rao have applied for ticket. Except former MP Jitender Reddy, former MLAs and former MLCs did not apply. Leaders like Komati Reddy Rajagopal Reddy, Konda Vishweshwar Reddy and Vivek Venkataswamy are rumored to jump to the Congress. As Goshamahal MLA Rajasingh is currently suspended from the party, there is no chance for him to apply. Vikram Goud applied from that constituency.
