A head constable died due to gun misfire in Hyderabad. Colleagues say that the gun accidentally misfired in the hands of head constable, who was on security duty in Hussaini Alam police station in the city. The constable, identified as Bhupathi Srikanth, was on duty in the area of Patabasti Hussaini Alam Police Station.
Bhupathi Srikanth from Nalgonda district has been working in Kabutarkhana area for a few days. He was seriously injured when the gun in his hand misfired while he was going to sleep after completing his duties on Tuesday night.
The seriously injured head constable was shifted to Osmania Hospital for treatment, where medical professionals started intensive treatment. Despite their best efforts, the constable Bhupathi Srikanth’ injuries proved fatal, and he tragically passed away during the course of medical care. DCP Sai Chaitanya of Dakshina Mandal inspected the scene. The family members are in tears after the constable of 2018 batch died. The body will be handed over to the family members after the postmortem.
Doubts are also being expressed about the misfire of the gun in the hands of the constable. Police are investigating whether the gun went off by mistake or suicide. This incident sent shockwaves through the old city of Hyderabad.
