Telugu Desam Party (TDP) demonstrations and sit-ins are continuing in Anantapur, Kalyanadurgam, Guntakallu, Hindupuram, Uravakonda, Kadiri, Dharmavaram, Raptadu, Singanamala, Tadipatri and other places demanding the release of their leader Nara Chandrababu Naidu. Meanwhile, the police broke up the indefinite hunger strike of former minister Kalava Srinivas in Rayadurgam at midnight. Srinivas was arrested and confined to the house.
Anantapur and Sathya Sai district presidents Srinivasulu and BK Parthasaradhi told reporters in Rayadurgam that Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, who was involved in a Rs 43 thousand crore scam related to quid pro quo cases, has no moral right to arrest Chandrababu on corruption charges. They criticized that they are conspiring against Chandrababu.
Also, Nannapaneni Rajakumari, former chairperson of AP Women’s Commission, said that Chandrababu Naidu will come out with a clean chit from the allegations. She accused the YSRCP government of arresting Chandrababu Naidu before the elections due to the fear of defeat in the elections. She said that development is possible only with Chandrababu Naidu. Chandrababu has gained international fame due to his development works and that is why Telugu people all over the world are protesting against his arrest.
Meanwhile, the ACB court has extended Chandrababu Naidu’s remand till October 5. TDP chief Chandrababu was produced in the ACB court after his two-day CID custody ended at 5 pm on Sunday in the AP Skill Development case. CID asked for extension of remand and custody. After the hearing, the court extended Chandrababu’s judicial custody till October 5 and issued orders of the ACB court.
