Chief Minister-in-waiting and leader of the Telangana Congress Legislative Party A. Revanth Reddy arrived in Delhi on Tuesday night, after the Congress party confirmed that he would serve as Telangana’s second Chief Minister to discuss the modalities of the Cabinet formation with the party high command.
Congress party has finalized the name of Revanth Reddy as the chief minister of Telangana. Revanth Reddy will take oath as Chief Minister on 7th of this month. It is reported that some ministers will take oath along with Revanth Reddy. As Revanth Reddy has been given the post of Chief Minister, it is reported that three others will be given the posts of Deputy CM. The reports are coming that the authority of the Congress party is considering giving the posts of Deputy CM to three people. Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka from the Dalit social group, Ponnam Prabhakar from the BC social group and Sitakka from the ST social group are likely to be made Deputy CMs.
Among the 64 MLAs won by the Congress party, there are members of the Reddy community. Most of them are newcomers. There are some seniors. Prem Sagar Rao, Jupalli Krishna Rao and Gandra Satyanarayana Rao, who won from Manchiryal in the Velama social class quota, are contesting for the ministerial post. Two to four women candidates are likely to get ministerial berths. Former minister Konda Surekha, Seethakka and Padmavathi Reddy are the front runners.
