A young woman committed suicide due to abuse by her husband, ups and downs in married life and problems in the company she was working for. Bandaru Saujanya, a resident of Vijayawada Bhavanipuram Housing Board Colony, is working in Madhunagar Canara Bank branch in the city. She was married to Venkateswarlu of Ulavapadu, Nellore district in November 2021. Venkateswarlu is working as an HR manager in a private company in Hyderabad.
Venkateswarlu lives alone in a flat in Appral Style Garden under Jawahar Nagar Police Station in Secunderabad area. Saujanya lives with her parents in Vijayawada. After marriage, she used to visit her husband on weekends. After two years of marriage, husband and wife have been working at different places.
At the time of marriage, Saujanya, who was working in Vijayapura, Karnataka, wanted to transfer to Hyderabad. The ownership of the bank was transferred to Vijayawada. The management of the bank is not heeding Saujanya’s appeal for transfer to Hyderabad for the past few years.
In the recent transfers she did not get the transfer even though she wanted to be allowed to stay with her husband in the spouse ground. So she went to her husband on leave on November 11.
After her marriage, she became mentally depressed as her husband stayed away. Her husband used to pressurize her to repay lakhs of rupees through credit cards. She used to tell her friends that she had to pay the credit card bills every month from her salary. As the married life was no longer happy, she thought of getting a divorce, but she did not want to hurt her elderly parents. She was often upset due to reasons such as lack of happiness in life, lack of harmony with her husband and lack of children.
A few months ago, she tried hard to get transferred from Vijayawada to Hyderabad, but in vain, she has been on leave for the past few months and has been staying with her husband. After going to the husband, there is a fight between the two regarding his habits. Even after Saujanya went to Hyderabad, he used to object to her husband leaving home in the morning and not coming home till late at night and he was constantly drinking alcohol.
Having to stay alone at home all day was a problem. On Tuesday night, there was a clash between the two over the same issue. After midnight, she committed suicide. The police recovered the suicide note written by the deceased.
