Another terrible incident has come to light in the national capital Delhi. According to Delhi Police, the incident took place in New Osmanpur area. aunt Anjali poured acid on her daughter in law. The victim was admitted to JPC Hospital with 25% burns. From there she was shifted to Lok Naik Jai Prakash Hospital. She is currently undergoing treatment there.
After the acid attack, the victim’s aunt and other family members ran away. Meanwhile, the police received the information about the incident and launched a search operation to catch them. Anjali was arrested in Sant Nagar Burari on Friday. Efforts are on to nab other family members. On the other hand, the police have registered various cases against Anjali under Section 323, 326A and 34 of the IPC.
According to the preliminary investigation, the victim was married two years ago. Currently she also has a 6 month old baby.
Anjali had filed a suit for eviction against her daughter-in-law in Karkardooma Court.
On Wednesday, both the parties attended a court hearing on the matter. After returning to their house, Anjali, in a fit of rage, attacked her daughter-in-law and poured acid on her.
The police said that the woman’s in-laws, including the accused, fled after the incident and took shelter at an acquaintance’s house in the Sant Nagar area of Burari, from where Anjali was arrested on Friday.
