The Supreme Court has adjourned the hearing on the petition filed by YS Sunitha Reddy seeking a stay on the anticipatory bail of Kadapa MP YS Avinash Reddy to 13th of this month. The lawyer for YS Sunitha Reddy presented his arguments in the Supreme Court this morning.

The lawyer for YS Sunitha Reddy argued that YS Avinash Reddy was the main conspirator in Vivekananda Reddy’s murder case. Sunitha Reddy’s lawyer argued in the court that the local government also supports Avinash Reddy. Sunitha Reddy’s counsel brought to the attention of the court that YS Avinash Reddy was obstructing the CBI investigation. However, the Supreme Court postponed the hearing on this petition to the 13th of this month.

 On May 31 this year, Telangana High Court granted anticipatory bail to Kadapa MP YS Avinash Reddy. The Telangana High Court’s grant of anticipatory bail to YS Avinash Reddy was challenged in the Supreme Court on the 7th of this month. 

Avinash Reddy is named Accused 8 by the CBI in the murder of former minister Y S Vivekananda Reddy in  the month of March 2019. The CBI had arrested the prime accused in the case and had named Avinash Reddy as accused.
The CBI alleged that Avinash Reddy and his father influenced Yerra Gangi Reddy, Sunil Yadav and Sivashankar Reddy to kill Vivekananda Reddy.
