AP CID files charge sheet against Chandrababu Naidu in Fibernet Case

Another trap is tightening around Telugu Desam Party chief Chandrababu Naidu. The CID has filed a charge sheet in the ACB court naming Chandrababu Naidu as the main accused in the AP Fibernet case. In this charge sheet Chandrababu has been named as A1, Vemuri Harikrishna as A2 and Kokanti Sambasiva Rao as A3. The CID special investigation team has exposed irregularities in works worth 333 crores in the first phase under this project of Rs 2 thousand crores. It concluded that tenders were awarded to Tera Soft Company of Vemuri Harikrishna against the rules. There are allegations that the then ruling party was involved in corruption in the fiber net project which was undertaken with the funds of central government.

 The CID charge sheet stated that there were many irregularities from allocation of tenders to the completion of  project. It has found that there has been a huge loss to the government exchequer. It was concluded that poor quality material was used. Moreover, the CID has made it clear in its charge sheet that the conditions have been violated.

It concluded that the government has incurred a loss of around Rs 114 crs due to the violations during implementation of the Fiber Net contract. It is mentioned in the CID charge sheet that Chandrababu Naidu supported the tender process.
