The covid may be transmitted from mother to child during pregnancy. Researchers have released reports that validate this. The researchers released the report when two children born in the United States were diagnosed with brain damage.

It was discovered that the virus passed from the mother to the baby through the placenta. After the release of the report, plans are in progress to make the covid vaccine mandatory for pregnant women. It was in 2020 that  few young women were diagnosed with Covid. They were infected with the covid when the delta variant of the covid was intense. After birth, the children born to these young women developed fainting and later stunted growth, according to doctors. One of the children died after completing one year and one month. Doctors say that the second child’s life was saved by giving special care in the hospital.

But the fact that neither of the children had Covid has also puzzled the researchers. But the presence of the virus in the child’s brain was identified during the post-mortem of the dead child.

WHO recommends vaccination in the  pregnant women when the benefits of vaccination to the pregnant woman outweigh the potential risks, such as pregnant women at high risk of exposure to COVID 19 and  the pregnant women with comorbidities that place them in a high-risk group for severe COVID-19 disease.
