The 2023 Emerging Asia Cup tournament was held at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on July 17. In this match, India A recorded an impressive victory over Nepal.
After winning the toss and batting first, Nepal team was bowled out for 167 runs in 39.2 overs. Coming into the ring with a small target of 168 runs, India A scored 172 runs for the loss of just 1 wicket in 22.1 overs and won by 9 wickets.
The openers Abhishek Sharma and Sai Sudarshan put on a partnership of 139 runs for the first wicket and started the victory. India A team won the Asia Cup 2023 tournament for the second time in a row.
Abhishek Sharma scored 87 runs off 69 balls with 12 fours and 2 sixes while Sai Sudarshan scored 58 runs off 52 balls with 8 fours and 1 six. And Dhruv Jurel scored 21 runs in 12 balls with 1 boundary and 2 sixes and won the India A team.
Rohit Kumar Paudel, the captain of the Nepal team who batted earlier, scored 65 runs from 85 balls with 7 fours, Gulshan Kumar Jha scored 38 runs from 30 balls with 2 fours and 2 sixes, and Dev Khanal scored 15 runs.
India A’ Abhishek Sharma who scored 87 runs, was awarded the man of the match award. With this, the India A team has scored 4 points and is at the top of Group B in the 2023 Emerging Asia Cup. India A will face Pakistan A in their next match on Wednesday, July 19 in Colombo.
