India to be excluded for 2nd half of IPL 2024?

The Board of Control for Cricket in India is prospecting the feasibility of conducting the second half of the India Premier League in the UAE. Also, some of the BCCI authorities are in the UAE to scout the probability of organising the second half of the IPL to the Gulf country. This is due to the coincidence of the schedules of General Elections and the tournament during IPL’s second half period.

After the announcement of the election schedule at 3 pm on Saturday, the BCCI will decide about the tournament’s second half. Also, the BCCI is looking to conduct the tournament in Dubai. As per reports, some of the franchises have already asked the players to submit their passports.

Similarly in 2014, the first half of the IPL was also held in the UAE because of its clash with the schedule of the Assembly polls. The BCCI revealed the schedule of the first half of the IPL in February, which includes 21 matches. The final match is scheduled to take place between Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans on April 7.

Whereas, the defending champions Chennai Super Kings will face a star-studded Royal Challengers Bangalore in the initial match on March 22 at 8 pm in Chennai. During the first weekend, two double headers, Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals will come face to face on Saturday afternoon and then, Kolkata Knight Riders and Delhi Capitals will perform the match in the evening.

On March 24 Sunday, the match will take place in Jaipur, where the home team Rajasthan Royals will face the Lucknow Super Giants. The Delhi Capitals will first host the Chennai Super Kings on Sunday, 31st March in Vizag, and then they will go ahead with Kolkata Knight Riders on 3rd April at the same venue.
