Recently, India’s off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has achieved a milestone by surpassing Anil Kumble in taking the highest number of wickets in the first Test against England at Dharamshala.
In recent times, the Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) has shared a video on X, where Ravichandran Ashwin discussed his chess learning with the Chess Master Viswanathan Anand.
The post reads, “From one champion to another TOP,” Viswanathan Anand congratulated R Ashwin.
Viswanathan said that he had interacted with Ashwin at the time of the pandemic as Ashwin had invited him to speak on his YouTube channel. He also praised Anand, on playing his 100th Test, saying, “You’re the chess player amongst the cricketers.”
On the other hand, Ashwin said that having conversations with Anand aided
him to enhance the core part of his game through chess.
