Rishabh Pant is back making a comeback to IPL

After undergoing extensive rehab at the National Cricket Academy, the young cricketer Rishabh Pant is declared fit as a wicketkeeper-batter by the BCCI, for the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The 26-year-old proficient cricketer is ready to make his comeback this year.

According to the report given by the Indian Cricket Board, “After undergoing an extensive 14-month rehab and recovery process, following a life-threatening road mishap on December 30, 2022, near Roorkee, Uttarakhand, Rishabh Pant has now been declared fit as a wicketkeeper-batter for the upcoming TATA IPL 2024.”

Doctors advised Rishabh Pant that it would take anywhere between 16-18 months to recover match fitness but Pnt was in no mood to be away from the game for that long duration. His aim was to attain complete match fitness and the moment his ankle and knee engagement, a severe indicator since both ankle and knee take most of the load for a wicketkeeper, was on point, the workload was consecutively raised.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India shared on X, writing, “The Greatest Comeback Story. This story is about inspiration, steely will power and the single-minded focus to get Rishabh Pant back on the cricket field. We track all those who got the special cricketer back in shape after a deadly car crash.”
