In a final over thriller in the first match of its Asia Cup campaign, Team India registered a victory against Pakistan yesterday. Hardik Pandya is the main pillar for Team India. He led India to win the Asia Cup. India managed to chase a total of 148 runs in 19.4 overs. India got an early blow while chasing a target of 148 runs, as opener KL Rahul got out on the second ball of the innings. Later, Virat Kohli (35) and Rohit Sharma (12) settled the game. But things got reversed when both of them got out quickly.
Surya Kumar Yadav has also got out without scoring much. Then, Ravindra Jadeja (35) and Hardik Pandya (33 off 17 balls) took care of the chase and made a partnership of 52 runs for the 5th wicket. On the other hand, the debutant Naseem Shah from Pakistan and bowler Mohammed Nawaz had performed well.
India secured better marks than Pakistan when compared their initial battings. Top batters Babar Azam and Fakhar Zaman went back to the pavilion without obtaining better outcomes. Ifthikar Ahmed gave a good support to Muhammed Rizwan.
After that, Pakistan went down wholly and didn’t bounce back. Pak managed to score 147 due to two sixes from the last batter Shahnawaz Dahani. It got all-out in 19.5 overs. Bhuvi got 4 wickets (4/26), Hardik got three (3/25) and Avesh took out two wickets (2/33). The next match will take place on August 31st, between India and Hong Kong.
