IND Vs WI 2nd Test 3rd Day: On the third day of the two Tests between India and West Indies, the West Indies batsmen gave more importance to self-defense. He batted with the tendency to stay in the crease rather than scoring runs.
West Indies, who batted for 67 overs on the third day, made only 143 runs. At the end of the third day in the first innings, West Indies lost five wickets and ended the game at 229 runs.
West Indies captain Brathwaite along with Atanje, Chandrapal and Blackwood tested the patience of the Indian bowlers. Brathwaite scored 75 runs off 235 balls. Atanje was not out at the crease with 37 runs off 111 balls. Chandrapal scored 33 off 95 balls and Blackwood scored 22 off 90 balls. The Indian bowlers threatened to dismiss the West Indies batsmen who were rooted in the crease with defensive batting.
Jadeja took 2 wickets while Ashwin, Mukesh Kumar and Siraj got one wicket each. West Indies still need 209 runs to cross India’s lead. India were bowled out for 438 runs in the first innings. While Kohli scored a century, Rohit Sharma, Jadeja, Yashaswi Jaiswal and Ashwin excelled with half centuries. India lead 1-0 in the two-match Test series.
