49 Years old Indian-origin man was sentenced to over 3  years in jail for smuggling more than 800 Indian people into the US using app Uber. Rajinder Pal Singh, aka Jaspal Gill, pleaded guilty in the month of  February, admitting that he took in more than USD 500,000 as a key member of a smuggling ring, bringing in hundreds of Indian nationals across border from Canada.

The authorities finally arrested the Indian driver who smuggled 800 Indians to America with the help of the taxi aggregator app Uber and sent him to jail.

Rajinder Pal Singh alias Jaspal Gill, who is smuggling Indians from Canada to America, has been sentenced to 45 months in prison by an American court. A resident of California, Rajinder Pal Singh is a driver by profession. He was a key member of a gang that smuggled people from Canada to the US. He earned up to 5 lakh dollars illegally through this smuggling. Finally he was caught by the police. A US District Court sentenced him to 45 months in prison. In a span of four years, he smuggled around 800 Indians from Canada to America. He would move them through Canada’s northern border to the US state of Washington. He used to use the Uber app for this.
