His film ‘RRR’ has created a sensation in India as well as across the world. But there was a time when he was told that he was worthless. An old video of Rajamouli is going viral, in which Rajamouli is telling how his family struggled in the beginning. One thing said by his sister-in-law, whom he considers like a mother, changed the director’s life.
In the video, Rajamouli said, “There were 13 people in the family and we were living in a one-bedroom apartment. We were worried every day about how we would pay the rent. My elder brother was the sole breadwinner in the entire family and this was the time when he got married. We call our sister-in-law ‘Amma’, we never called her sister-in-law. By the time I was 22, I was not doing anything. For 5 years my father had been asking me to do something.”
Rajamouli added, “One of my aunts used to scold me and say that he cannot do anything in his life. Rajamouli is useless. Then my sister-in-law told me that I did not want anyone to call my son by bad names. After this, I suddenly started taking my life seriously and started working seriously.”
