Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi himself has confirmed that he has tested +ive for Coronavirus. Now he has become the first high-profile cricketer to be infected with the deadly virus Corona.

Shahid Afridi took to his Twitter and said, “I have been feeling unwell since Thursday, my body had been aching badly. I have been tested and unfortunately I am covid-19  positive.” His tweet also drew quick response from his Pakistan teammates including Kamran Akmal, Mohammad Hafeez and the Pakistan Cricket Board.

Shahid Afridi  revealed that he had been feeling unwell since Thursday. He is the second Pakistan international cricketer after Taufeeq Umar to have tested +ive  for Covid-19. Taufeeq Umar had announced his recovery a few days ago.

Shahid Afridi  made his debut for Pakistan back in the year 1996, played 27 Tests, 398 ODIs and 99 T20Is. He started his career as an opening batsman, developed into an all rounder as his career progressed. He scored 1716, 8064 and 1416 runs in Tests, ODIs and T20Is respectively. He was last seen on the field in the Pakistan Super League in the month of March.

Shahid Afridi is also actively involved in his charity work as the head of a foundation named after him. Following the coronavirus outbreak, he was seen outdoors on many occasions, mainly for his charity work.
