World Cup 2023: Shubman Gill discharged from hospital, remains doubtful for IND vs PAK clash in Ahmedabad

Team India’s star opener Shubman Gill has been admitted to hospital. Gill, who contracted dengue three days before the first match of the Indian team in the World Cup 2023, has not yet recovered. He was admitted to a hospital in Chennai as his platelet count dropped. He has already missed the matches of Australia and Afghanistan. It has become a doubt to play against Pakistan.

Team India left for Delhi on Monday for the upcoming match against Afghanistan in Delhi on Wednesday (October 11) . In a statement, BCCI announced that Shubman Gill is not going with this team and he will be under the supervision of the medical team in Chennai. But he did not say that he was admitted to the hospital.

the opening batter was discharged on Monday evening.  Gill was currently undergoing treatment at Kaveri Hospital in Chennai. It is known that the number of platelets in the blood falls due to dengue . As the same thing happened to Shubman, he should not travel with the rest of the team and the medical team told him that he needed treatment, so he stayed in Chennai.

BCCI’s Dr. Rizwan Khan is currently supervising Gill. Gill, who arrived in Chennai with the team on October 4, has been confined to the hotel since then. Even after the dengue fever subsides, the weakness persists for several days. Even if Gill recovers and is discharged from the hospital, it is doubtful that he will be fit for the match against Pakistan on Saturday.
