ODI Asia Cup 2023 will be held from August 30. A 17-member team India has been announced for this. While the captaincy of Team India is in the hands of Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya will be the vice-captain. After a long time, KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer will make a comeback to Team India through the Asia Cup. Wicketkeeper and batsman Sanju Samson has been dropped from the ODI Asia Cup squad. Tilak Verma, a batsman who has played only 8 T20 matches and has not played a single ODI match, is fortunate to get a place in the team.
Pakistan and Sri Lanka are jointly hosting the Asia Cup. Both the countries have already announced a 17 member strong squad. Unlike the World Cup, in the Asia Cup instead of 15 members, a team of 17 members has been given an opportunity to be selected. Now the BCCI has also announced a 17-member strong squad for the Asia Cup.
8 batsmen have been selected in the 17 member Indian team. A total of four players are in the all-rounder quota, including two fast bowling all-rounders and two spin all-rounders. While four other players got a place in the fast bowling department, only Kuldeep Yadav was selected as a complete spinner in the team.
Batting Division: Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, Tilak Verma, Ishan Kishan.
All Rounders: Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Akshar Patel, Shardul Thakur.
