Before the commencement of West Indies series, Covid-19 contracted the Indian cricket team yesterday. The Openers Shikhar Dhawan, Ruthuraj Gaikwad, middle-order batter Shreyas Iyer and net bowler Navdeep Saini tested positive  for CoronaVirus along with three support staff.

On the late Wednesday, Mayank Agarwal was added to India’s ODI squad for the forthcoming series following the virus outbreak. For the upcoming white-ball series against the West Indies, the Indian team assembled in Ahmedabad on 31st January. The series starts in Ahmedabad on February 6 with India’s 1000th ODI match.
Shikhar Dhawan and Navdeep Saini’s tests resulted positive through RT-PCR. Fielding coach T. Dilip and Security Liaison officer B.Lokesh have also tested positive in RT-PCR test. Ruthuraj Gaikwad also tested positive, but later during the first round of testing, he tested negtaive. Similarly, Shreyas Iyer and sports massage therapist Rajeev Kumar tested positive in RT-PCR, and again both were tested negative in the first two rounds of testing.
The BCCI reported that the players who tested positive will be at rest in isolation till their complete recuperation.
