Finally, Team India won the One Day International trophy against England on Sunday to attain three-match series 2-1. Hardik Pandya was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 4/24 for India, while Yuzvendra Chahal took 3 wickets for 60. On the other hand, as England were bowled out for 259, captain Jos Buttler top-scored with 60 while opener Jason Roy made 41.

Rishabh Pant scored an undefeated 125, chasing 260, while Hardik Pandya made 71, as India reached the target in 42.1 overs. After a 133-run stand wicket with Hardik, Pant remained not out on 125. Pandya’s career-best 4 for 24 from 7 overs and innings of 71 made him the first Indian player to score a half-century and take 4 wickets in an ODI since Yuvraj Singh at the World Cup 2011.

After Topley had ripped through the top order, the pair came together with their side 72 for 4. Kohli was gone for 17 and India were 38 for 3. Pandya placed Siraj in the 10th over with immediate impact when he had an indecisive Roy out for 41. Pandya had 2 for 2 inside 3 overs.

Pandya and Jadeja combined two times in an over to pull England down to 199 for 7. Jos Buttler terminated his side’s leading run-scorer with 60 as Yuzvendra Chahal exuded his strong performance, the hosts losing their last 3 wickets for 12 runs in 14 balls. Thus India won the 2-1 series and lifted the ODI 2022 trophy.
