As the Indian spinners were transient at the time of his team’s 31-run win over visitors in the 1st One Day International, South African batter Rassie Van Der Dussen was satisfied that he could perform his sweep shots perfectly.

When he came in front of the online media, he said that he tried reverse sweeps, and a few of them came off, got off to a flyer. Thus he tried to put pressure back on Indian spinners. And the wicket is quite slow there. His 129 not out off 96 balls and 204 run stand with skipper and fellow centurion Temba Bavuma has helped him more.
Recently, Van Der Dussen has taken part in two high pressure chases in the test victories, and at the same time, it became the plus point and he raised his confidence levels himself in the first ODI. Regarding his satisfied performance, he said that it was really a good day for batters, and they have worked hardly on how to target the excellent bowlers as well.
He swept really well against Tuzvendra Chahal and Ravichandran Ashwin in the match. He further said that the work put in by the coaching unit against spin bowling has helped him a lot, and he had always been clear about what to do when he went out to bat.
