U19 World Cup Australia achieves third successive win over India

By defeating Uday Saharan-led Indian cricket team by 79 runs, Australia won third successive U19 World Cup in the final match, held at the Sahara Park Willowmoore Cricket Stadium in Beloni on February 11. During the match, India managed to score only 174 out of 254 and were all out. Australian batters did not let any Indian batter to settle and the bowlers have shown their rampage in the second innings from the beginning of the match itself.

Australian team secured 253/7 in 50 overs post winning the toss and left a target mark of 254 runs to India. Mahli Beardman took 3 wickets by giving just 23 runs and was named The Player of the Match. While the South African bowler Kwena Maphaka received a title, ‘The Player of the Tournament’.

From team Australia, half century was attained by the batter Harjas Singh (55), while the captain Hugh Weibgen scored 48 runs. Opener Harry Dixon scored 42 runs and Oliver Peake scored 46 unbeaten runs. For this, Australia was highly appreciated and crowned.

However, India had won the Under-19 World Cup title 5 times and so, they are also called defending champions. India have their consecutive triumphs in 2000, 2008, 2012, 2018 and 2022. From this, being Indians, we have to feel proud that our country had reached the success gate 5 times, but Australia did it only 4 times.
