Zimbabwe cricket legend Heathstreak has passed away. Heathstreak  was 49 years old. Streak, who was suffering from cancer,  took his last breath after his condition worsened. Known as one of Zimbabwe’s greatest all-rounders, Streak represented Zimbabwe in 65 Tests and 189 ODIs in his 12-year career. He is also the only Zimbabwean cricketer to take 100 wickets in Tests. He scored 1990 runs in Tests and 2,943 runs in ODIs. He scored his only century (127 not out) in the Test against the West Indies in Harare

Streak, who made his debut in international cricket with a match against Pakistan in 1993, took 8 wickets in the second Test in Rawalpindi. He announced his retirement from cricket in 2005. He then signed a two-year contract to captain Warwickshire but lost form and ended it midway through. After that he signed a contract with the Indian Cricket League (ICL).

Even after retirement, he did not give up his association with cricket. He has worked as a coach for Zimbabwe, Scotland, Bangladesh, Gujarat Lions and Kolkata Knight Riders. However, the ICC imposed an 8-year ban on him for violating anti-corruption rules, which damaged his career. However, he left an indelible mark in the minds of his fans as a great cricketer. With Streak’s death, there was a tragedy in Zimbabwean cricket. Many cricketers are posting their condolences on social media.
