Ascribed to Covid-19 border restrictions, New Zealand’s three-match Twenty20 international cricket series against Australia which was scheduled to be held in next month has been cancelled.
Australia defeats Kiwis by 8 wickets in the final of the T20 World Cup last November and the rivals were expected to play in Napier from March 17-20. As the Australian Men’s team does not have places reserved in managed isolation, the series cannot take place.
New Zealand Cricket chief executive David White said that there was a lot of hope that the trans-Tasman border would be open for those who met the right criteria. This was happened during their visit schedule.
From Friday, Australia coming off a 4-0 win over England in the five-test ashes series, is due to host Sri Lanka in a five-match T20 series.
Later, Women’s Cricket World Cup tournament will be organised by New Zealand, and it will be attended by 7 countries, which will be commenced from March 4.
